ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Barbara A. Jones, the author, is a retired contracting professional and a graduate of Champlain College. She currently serves as an Associate Minister in Baltimore, MD and is the mother of one daughter. As a Christian, Barbara found strength and power through prayer and faith, which helped her navigate life’s challenges. She believes in the transformative power of prayer, emphasizing that it can open doors that no one can close and bring hope to seemingly hopeless situations. Barbara encourages having faith that, regardless of the outcome, God is working everything out for our good. She often quotes her mother, who used to say, “we can only see to the corner, but God sees around the corner, up the street, and into the next year.”

Additionally, she performed in One Night at the Well, written by Bishop Vashti McKenzie (2002). She is a published author of “Grandma, Teach Me to Pray” (Feb. 2021) and has a story in “Pot Likker: Stories for Teachers and Educators” by Larry Grant Coleman (Editor) and Deborah Peaks Coleman (Editor) (Paperback – May 2001). She is quoted in the prologue of “Janet Reno: Doing the Right Thing” by author Paul Anderson, published in 1993 by John Wiley & Sons (1995), and most recently published “Thank You Grandma for Teaching Me to Pray” (2024).

Amongst her favorite scripture verses is, Philippians 3:12 MSG, ” I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made.  But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has wondrously reached out for me.”
